Pleasure Divisional Awards

The point total achieved from five Classes within a division are used to determine the Pleasure Divisional Award. The turnout with the highest score within the division becomes champion and the second highest score within a division becomes reserve champion. 

The five classes within each Pleasure Division include: 

  1. Turnout
  2. Working
  3. Reinsmanship
  4. Progressive Obstacle
  5. My Route/Your Route

The points awarded for each class are determined according to the placing and the number of people in a class. 

AWARDS – NON-DRIVEN DIVISION
Champion and Reserve Champion Ribbon

Given to the competitor with the best and next best cumulative score in the Long Lining and Harnessing Classes. Competitors must compete in both classes to win this award.

Kendalwood Farm Friesian Champion Trophy

Sponsored by Friends of Kendalwood Farm.
PJ and Tara Miliziano-Crowley have been involved in carriage driving for many years. Located in Zionsville, PA they have been involved in the purchase, training and rehabilitation of driving horses and the training of countless drivers. Both have competed successfully throughout NA and have a special fondness for the Friesian Horse.

Awarded to the Friesian or Friesian Cross that has the highest cumulative score in the Pleasure portion of The Great Lakes Carriage Classic.

Helen Southgate Memorial Trophy

William M. Remley Memorial Trophy

Sponsored by the Remley Family - In memory of William Remley
William was a founding member of the American Driving Society and the driving force & heart of the Walnut Hill Farm Driving Competition.
Award is presented to the Concours d’Elegance winner at The Great Lakes Carriage Classic. The essence of this competition is the word elegance, and the winner is the turnout exhibiting the most elegance throughout the competition, in the judges’ opinions.

Audrey Bostwick Memorial Trophy

Sponsored by Premier Equine Services and Greg Dunn.
Audrey Bostwick was a founding member of the ADS and was a licensed judge, steward and technical delegate in pleasure driving. She was judge at the inaugural Great Lakes Carriage Classic and thereafter attended the show as a volunteer. Audrey mentored countless number of students and always supportive to those in carriage driving, side saddle and intercollegiate riding.
Awarded to the Junior with the highest cumulative score in the Pleasure portion of The Great Lakes Carriage Classic.

VSE Supreme Trophy

Audrey Bostwick Memorial Trophy

Donated by Premier Equine Services and Greg Dunn. Audrey Bostwick was a founding member of the ADS. She served as licensed judge, steward and technical delegate specializing in Pleasure Driving, Hunter/ Jumper Equitation and Side Saddle. Audrey was the Pleasure Judge at the inaugural GLCC in 2017 and served as GLCC show volunteer yearly until her death in 2022. As a teacher Audrey encouraged youth and her trophy is awarded to the Junior who accumulates the most points in the Pleasure Portion of the GLCC.
